Author Topic: Trouble with Audacity  (Read 5504 times)

Move is necessary, but notify me IF it's moved.

I am using Firefox and using DownloadHelper. I change the file to .mp3, and try to use audacity to edit it, and it goes WAY to fast. If this is a problem, tell me. Help please? Thanks!
To me, it is!!  :panda:

Nothing in this post is correct. The playback speed only affects the audio when you actually use that little green arrow beside to to start playback, and the help board is for blockland related help. This correctly belongs in Off-Topic.

I change the file to .mp3,

What do you mean by this? Do you mean you typed a new extension for the file? Because that is not how file conversion works.

Tell me the exact process that you did to make the music file, starting from downloading the original to exporting it in audacity.

Sure.

I went onto Firefox WITH the addon DownloadHelper, a video download program. Went to YouTube, searched the video, and downloaded it, but it downloads as an .flv file, and audacity won't open that file.

There ya go. What happens? The song plays incorrectly when I play it. That's the problem. I can't make it good. :panda:
Oh, it's when I change the extension upon save as.

Oh. I don't wanna lose any comments, so notify and move the topic. Please?

There's your problem. You're downloading a video file, not an audio file.
To download a Youtube video's audio ONLY, use this. This should work.
