well, he basically was
he was a clone of the same guy. he was the same person. they both had the same memories and everything. the only real difference between the new guy and Tech 49 was the very few experiences that he and the girl shared with each other before he left to blow up the tet
so it's kinda weird... but basically, he was the same guy she was in love with
Falling in love with the second Cruise (Jack Harper) Clone obviously wasn't an issue, as she'd already fallen in love with the first Jack Harper Clone, who was a clone of her husband, the man she actually did love.
The weirder thing would be how on earth would they cope should they then encounter another Jack Harper clone, as there was almost certainly more than 2 clones on earth. And while there were other Victoria clones too, given probability, some of those wouldn't survive following the destruction of the Tet (particularly as only the Jack Harper clones were trained for survival on Earth).
So, it's not unlikely that several other Jack Harpers could turn up at the sanctuary.
How bizarre would that be for Julia, or even more so for Julia's daughter who was presumably being told that Jack Harper Clone 2 was her father.
And that raises another question altogether. If Julia was able to have a child with the first Jack Harper clone, then obviously the clones are fertile.
The population of the earth has dwindled drastically, post-war. And following the destruction of the Tet, the Jack/Harper clones would likely explore the world. At least a few of those would either reproduce with each other or any other survivors they may find.
Should the human race start to come back, there's going to be a particularly slim amount of genetic diversity if a large proportion of the surviving human race happens to all have identical DNA.
How exactly would that impact the human race in the years to follow?
