I don't like any of those much. Bedroom is ok, but my favorite map is The Islands by Reactor Worker and Carribean one.

Bedroom gives you a lot of random places to test things like fall damage (bed is perfect height) and high/low ground guns.

Slate is... flat. Blank. Easy to build on.

Favourite Custom Maps:

Slate - 0G [with a hacky port of Jet Guns]
Slate - Small Platform [Realistic suspended space station. Walk off and fall!]

I agree. Bedroom is one of the best. I use it almost every time for testing my Add-Ons as I develop them. It has terrain, secret areas, and it's also good for keeping players within a certain range of the spawn.

I probably like Slopes the least. The textures are crappy and the terrain isn't realistic, it's just kinda pointless.

Oh and my least favorite is Slate. It is easy to build on, but the coloring is too purple and too strong for my tastes.

Yes Slate is ugly, Bedroom is probably one of the best because its bedroom! Slopes is probably the most unused level...

I like Slate maps, but Slate itself is weird. Destruct is probably my most used, thanks to Construct being too bright.

Bedroom is always pretty fun. I don't really like Kitchen... its too bland.

The Slopes are the best for just messing around, but they're horrible for building.

Also, you seem really biased towards GSF's maps.
