Resilience needs us, and so we serve.
The
Resilience Defense Force was founded for one purpose. Protect this planet and it's inhabitants to the ends of it's days. For the past 15 years, the military has been in service. In 2132, a militia known as the Red Death assaulted bases all across the planet, sparking a military response. This Data Log entry should fill in the basic background of our mission.
Planet ResilienceAccording to UC Law #2455 - "...Each Colonized Planet must be separated into 8 quadrants, each quadrant having 4 zones integrated into them. Quadrants 1-4 make the Eastern Hemisphere, and Quadrants 5-8 make the Western Hemisphere..."

Active Zones/Quadrants: Quadrant 2&7 exempt | Q. 1 (Zones 2-3 are medical Quadrants, 3&4 are polar gaurds. | Q.3 (Zones 1 and 2 are deemed destroyed, zones 3 and 4 are active.) | Q. 8 (Zones 2 and 4 are active, zone 3 is medical, zone 1 is inactive.)
Phase I. 2117 : the 4B-aQ Virus finds it's way to Jet via asteroid. The meteorite was thought to be dissolved upon atmospheric entry, but instead spread across Quadrant 5. The virus infected the quadrants water supply and left two zones wrecked in a span of 22 weeks. The Planet was devoured by the virus, quadrant 7 and 2 exempt, in a manner of 45 weeks.
Phase II. 2117: The Universal Colonies deemed Planet Jet a Quarantine Level 6 Disaster Area. UC forces secure the remaining survivors and land lock them.
Phase III. 2119: In desperate attempts to regain the coal supply from Planet Jet, Admiral G. Constantine founded the RDF as an alternative to UC gaurds. The RDF would consist of purely Jet residents and would only gaurd the remaining quadrants, no more, no less. Planet Jet renamed to Planet
Resilience.
Phase IV. 2120: The RDF is cleared as a military force, General of the Army Constantine orders secure outposts to be constructed in Quadrants 1, 3, and 8. Quadrants 4,5, and 6 are deemed Quarantine Level 6 Disaster areas, all other areas began controlling the infection immediatly.
Phase V. 2129: Quarantine Zone 3 fell under attack at 09:43 ULT (Universal Log Time). Zone 1 was destroyed, Zone 2 was severely damaged and forced to evacuate. Zone 3 had a secure underground bunker .8 miles beneath the planets carbon crust, resulting in surface outpost damage, but no internal damage. Zone 4 was spared and began the construction of a secure bunker facility as well.
Phase VI. -
Present: 2130-2133: In 2130, Zone 3's Bunkers generator malfunctioned, resulting in a total loss of property. Zone 3 was forced to relocate and camp in a designated safe "oasis". Colonel Lockhart (now Brigadier General) requested permission from GoA Constantine to grant Zone 3 a M Class Orbital Supply station, retrofitted for combat deployment use. GoA Constantine granted the request and Zone 3 was secured once and for all in 2132. However, prior to the securing of Zone 3, a terrorist militia group, self proclaimed as the Red Death, had bagan assaulting RDF forces in Zones 3 and Zones across Quadrant 8. The RDF declared war against the militia later that year.
Present: Zone 3 Commander, Colonel Eagle has ordered a shift of Zones from Zone 3 to Zone 2, in light of their original mission in the Quadrant.
Update: Lake Styx has been recently reopened for Naval use. Two (2) ships are to be stationed in the lake by the end of the month. the RDFS LHS-145 Sigma Octstar fish and the RDFSC CVN-1024 Ranger will be the selected ships. Their mission there is to collect virus samples and to provide military support around the rest of Quadrant 4.
Background: Lake Styx is an impact crater believed to be casued by a large asteroid 20,000 years before colonization. Due to the rich carbon and sand deposits below the crater, it has been tasked as an artificial fresh-water source for the northern hemisphere. Since Phase I has contaminated the water, it was deemed highly toxic and lethal. Recent advances into non-evaluated territory has lead us to believe the water is un-inhabited by infected species, where only few remain, and is fit for Naval use.
