Author Topic: Troubles with a 75x75 profile picture.  (Read 862 times)

It's a .png with a transparent background, its 75x75 (From what I've seen, the biggest its allowed) and I keep getting an error that it took too long to upload (Even though the error page appeared in about 2 seconds), or that its too big for the server too handle. What should I do?

it's an SMF issue. and the SMF developers won't deal with it
your best bet is probably to use a couple of different image editors to save it

hmm
also, how did you get the image?

Google searched an image of Stephen Stills (Scott Pilgrim).

then what did you do with it? like, this may sound silly or pointless, but like, describe what you did with the image, from the point of finding it on google to trying to upload it

Right clicked it n saved
Opened it up in paint.net
Transparent'd the background
Resized it down to 75x75
saved it

okay, can you try it again? but this time, do this instead of your first two steps:

1. Right click the image and press "Copy image URL"
2. Open paint.net and at the top click "Edit" then "Paste in new image"

keep the rest the same
also, another option would be to open the image you already have in PDN, select the whole image, then do the second step

also, I meant "select and copy the whole image, then do the second step"

I was unable to upload this avatar at 75x74 or 74x74 but when I tried 70x70 it uploaded and worked instantly.

Still the same results. Tried 1 and 2 together aswell.

Didn't get the error message with your version.
Guess I just wait for it to become my picture, then.
