Author Topic: Help with making weapons with Blender version 2.71  (Read 6179 times)

I'll try to do it again afterwards, on my phone atm

I'm fairly sure the issue is that your copy of blender is running python 2.3.5. Update to 2.6.2.

Was pretty sure, the tutorial said to downlod that version. Did it not

Nope. You're supposed to use 2.6.2.

Seriously?.. Well.. I guess that could be an issue..

If you don't want to bother with additional python installs, you can remove it from your system completely and Blender will default to its prepackaged python (one of the 2.49 versions comes with 2.6 built-in, works fine).

Or, if you do have python installed and it doesn't work but you don't want to remove it, you can change your python environment variable(s).

I got it working now. For some reason, i had an old python version installed, altough i downloaded it from the tutorial. A new question. It seems to tell me, that the animations will not be saved

I think the DTS exporter doesn't work without a 2.6.2 install.

Blender 2.5+ to Blender 2.4* animations are transferable. You must animate in 2.49b.

God damnit.. The 2.49b works just enough for me to open the file, drag down the file menu from being hidden in the info bar and press export... I have no clue how i am expected to animate in 2.49b.. ><

It does (unless the packaged python just doesn't include the last .2 on the zip in the blender folder). I use the pre-packaged python on my computer, works with both exporters.
