Author Topic: Google Chrome's newest update has screwed up my font  (Read 1069 times)

So last night I updated Google Chrome to 37.0.2062.103 and instantly after, it messed up the font for every single webpage (the URL bar is still the same). The annoying thing is that it isn't really noticeable, it just looks smaller and more...smooth. I went into settings and checked the font section, and all the options are default as they should be.

I'd post a screencap, however when I compare an image of now and before the problem arose, it doesn't look any different. I had this problem before after updating a couple of months back, after a re-install of Chrome however, the problem was fixed. I tried re-installing Chrome again, however it isn't changing anything.

Anyone else having this issue, or have any ideas?

My font looked different some time ago but I have no idea what was different... it just was

I have no idea if it's still different or changed back

Try changing the standard font from times new roman to arial. Might work, not sure, but after some backtracking, the most similiar font would be arial.

Since the update I've found text in general much much easier to read.

More on-topic, though; what exactly is your problem? You don't really state what your problem actually is

disable directwrite in chrome://flags if it really bothers you.

jacked up fonts on a bunch of websites so I disabled it.
