I think I had the same problem over a year ago. IF I remember correctly, (which is over a year ago, like SRSLY) it has something to do with eyeOffset variable for the SwordImage.

You're missing the stateSequence in your fire state. I believe the animation name should be "fire".

it actually is eyeOffset you need to make sure it is not set or set to 0 0 0

Well, stuff, how'd I forget that with Honor's post reminding me too :/

the actual sword has an eyeoffset (notice how it doesnt bob when you walk) and also has a firing animation thats visible in first person only. if you modified the sword like importing the dts and exporting to some format then the animations are lost, unless its just a colorchange then its probably just stateSequence

I think it's (edit: definitely) the eyeOffset. The gif shows the normal Sword's explosion particle, he probably copy/pasted the sword script and added his model.
