I have to rant, I'm pissed.

So, I began my Sophomore year in high school in August, and found out that A) My Geometry class is 1st, and B) My teacher does her homework through the Internet. I guess she did this to conserve paper and promoting our stuffty school-issued tablets (Dell Latitudes, overpriced pieces of ass), but there is some problems:

Our tablets have problems, mostly because of how badly the school set them up, so some of us can't access the website. Some of us can't even access the internet because of this. Now, where does this turn for me?

I can't get to the website to do said homework. Me and my friends have confirmed that the URL does not work on multiple devices, but my teacher says she's able to get on it. I've already missed an entire unit's worth of homework because of this stuff.

Oh, and the 1st period problem? I'm too half-asleep to focus. Nothing more, nothing less.

geometry is easy
triangle * 2 = square
or some stuff like that ye

yep, our school is the same way.
we switched everything to ipads.

like, even loving CONTRACTS we had to sign on ipads, using a district app
if you didnt have the app, you're uspposed to print it out, sign it, take a picture of it, and send it to the teacher.

i don't even have the app yet, and we don't have a printer.

everything on internet just promotes cheating and, technology sucks.

There is a way around this. Sign up for after school, go to the library, ask a friend repeatedly, get a new device.

Using technology for schoolwork isn't inherently bad. The major problem is that when they decide "let's do everything on computers now!", they make the same dumb mistake all schools make, which is to put money towards inventory and not staff. So when they buy their $50,000 worth of IPad's, they left setting everything up to the one person who knows a thing or two about them and said "Do it lol". So they get nice devices, and a stuffty non-working system. Best use of district money ever.

Also, tablets are not the ideal device to use anyways. My school did chromebooks, which I think is a fine choice even though I'd have preferred just regular netbooks.

They usually have money specifically for technology that can't go anywhere else.

geometry was easier than algebra for me ;-;

also IKTF op, sometimes the school's administration dun goofs

omfg the staff at my school are loving idiots

they couldnt get a few computers working, so they threw them away
the problem was that the power supply wasn't plugged in -.-
(this is serious, this JUST happened yesterday)

And this is why I am so glad the high school I primarily went to had an actual IT department.

I once had algebra 2 for 0 hour at my school (which starts at 7:30 in the morning) and that kinda sucked. but then i switched it to English 3 and all was good.
