What the actual forget lol.

First option asks if you want the interface to be Stock / default or custom.  If you choose Stock/Default it's automatically a charge of 5,000 dollars.  Where the forget did they come up with these figures.  One of my friends from elementary school made a crappy app and put it on the appstore, i can assure you he did not have 5000 dollars minimum lying around.

Anyways: The browser works pretty good, but the page buttons are really small.  That's really my only complaint about viewing forums on mobile.  But, this can easily be bipassed by zooming in temporarily :P
FYI, they claim to get their prices based on $60-$100/hr wages. Basically, that website is a service for people who want an app but need someone to make it for them. Fine for a big company, not a viable option for everyone else.

How about just make a more Mobile friendly version that can be compatible across all smart phone OS, not just iOS.

Bullstuff, it does not cost 500 dollars to make a custom icon for an app.

Agreed, I can easily make one for the price of 0 dollars!

Well, if you consider the price of electricity consumed making that logo and the bandwidth used to upload it, it technically costs >$0.

Also, app icons have to be made in like 5 different sizes. Rescaling is one solution, but people who want truly crisp icons at all resolutions will have the logo recreated at each size.

True, but this is easily done with small adjustments to a vector graphic file.

That quoted price is absurd. Parsing the forum's HTML code into lists and elements is not difficult and this app would require extremely insignificant amounts of original content. A good programmer could do this in three hours, that would come out to a rate of approximately $7500 an hour.
What do you do if your app gets the cloudflare page?

What do you do if your app gets the cloudflare page?
Perhaps your screen can have the page, and it's labelled, "Please wait, DDoSers are attacking the forums"

What do you do if your app gets the cloudflare page?
is this even a question? that would be very easy to detect.

Only reason you'd need an app for it is because iOS devices have such tiny screens!

 :cookieMonster:

In all seriousness, I never had an issue using the forums on my 3.5" screen iPod.

No... I mean how do you get past it?

No... I mean how do you get past it?
why do you think that there's a way to get past it at all
we're not going to cache the entire forums. that's gigabytes worth of text and images.

I'm talking about this

What do you do if your app gets the cloudflare page?
Parse it, understand it's the cloudflare page, then display a comment that says "Cloudflare has interrupted access to this page. The page will automatically refresh in 5 seconds." and then refresh in 5 seconds.

Oh, I see. It makes your browser do some fancy stuff to access the site. TBH I have no idea. I'd have to look into how that computation process works which would take more time, but not $22300 worth of time.
