Author Topic: Has ayone actually even seen a 3GB stick of DDR2?  (Read 1048 times)

Why would you store Dance Dance Revolution 2 on a stick?
this was my first thought as well

i was extremely confused for the first few posts

Acer probably made 3gb specifically for it, so if it's an older computer, good luck finding one.

I'm not really worried about finding one, and I'm sure if I did, it'd cost an arm and a leg.
I'm just wondering if anyone's seen one.

I'm just going to get a couple cheap 2GB sticks of ECC (Seeing as it's supported) and use it as a small server.

You could try 4gb + 2gb
I think the only issue with mixing RAM is timing, I think different sizes are fine if it's the same timing

I think my friends old RAM sticks were 3GB each. Can't remember.

It's 3GB max per DIMM, so I can't put a 4GB stick in it, otherwise I'd already have done that, seeing as I have two 4GB DIMM's that I still can't even use.

I don't need it anyway, I just want to know if anyone's seen a 3GB DIMM.

And neither timing or size matter specifically, so long as the motherboard supports it.
If you put two sticks of different speeds, it's clock down to the lowest speed. (Assuming they didn't forget up the BIOS.)
