Author Topic: Terrain Textures and skyboxes?  (Read 2241 times)

I wanted to make a map without interiors and I have mission editor working, and everything is going good as far as finding out how things work, but how do you apply textures and the such to terrain, and how do you change a skybox? Oh, and water, surface textures? I've seen a few maps with "invisible water."

Bump-complete thread change.

Any way to remove fog?

you can't remove fog but you can make visibility distance higher, the farthar you can see, the more the lag though. Your computer loads infinite amounts of terrain without the fog.

There is no fog in slate though, and there is visibility distance to keep from the massive amounts of lag. Visibility distance is like invisible fog, and the fog would be the fog that is visible and at times, annoying.

I've seen maps with no fog and I would really like to know how it is done. And I cleared out every line in the fog tab once, and it resulted in black, dirty, fog.

No, you have seen maps that give the illusion of no fog/ visible distance...

For your dictionary:
Visible distance: The physical distance you can see or detect objects, if it is out of this range, your computer ignores it...

Fog:The radding of objects given to make the Visible Distance less like a line and more like a natural occurring thing.

Having no fog is possible, but it just makes the visible distance stand out and look unpolished.  Having no limit to visible distance is impossible because it goes on forever, and therefor, your computer would take and infinite amount of time to render a single frame, what really happens is BL just crashes from an overload.

edit:Woops, sry for the bump, didn't check the topic date XD
