Author Topic: Blogland forums: I think I found the female version of the Navy Seals copypasta  (Read 737 times)

This really old buzzfeed article about Natalia Poklonskaya has some pretty amusing comments.

I remember this sort of discrimination very well in my younger days. This guy is like a lot of them who project their own BS onto women. She doesn't look 'nervous' but many men have made the mistake of hoping that is the case with women to validate their own limited views of reality.
I remember an incident, years ago, when I'd just finished my parachute training in the army and was then a paratrooper. I'd just come back from an overseas assignment in South Korea and had been stationed for a year in a camp which was located 7 miles, as the crow flies, from the DMZ and North Korea. I was also an expert rifleman. I'd just gotten back to the US and had gone straight into jump school (parachute training and learning how to jump from airplanes) and then had to travel to my next duty station which was in another state. I was also a consummate drunk at the time. I was known, very much for 'not suffering fools gladly'.
I had stopped in this po-dunk town for the night and booked into a hotel. I went down to the hotel bar to waste the evening. I was sitting at the bar just having a chat with the bartender when some starfish appears next to me and says, 'you look like a lost little girl'. I couldn't believe my ears and to this day, still have a hard time processing it. What kind of idiot walks up to a stranger and says that? He got a well deserved surprise and lesson when a loud, booming voice which was honed from months of shouting across parade fields at troops answered him with: 'REALLY?! I'M PRETTY SURE I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE I AM. YOU, ON THE OTHER HAND, LOOK LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR ASS FROM A HOLE IN THE GROUND!!'
Nope, didn't suffer fools and the way I have always seen it is if you see a woman sitting in a bar minding her own business, then she deserves the same respect for her privacy that you'd give an old man sitting there. Most do not realise just how much a woman's privacy is invaded and not respected by pathetic individuals like the guy who approached me in that bar. Or, these clowns making fun of this woman who holds a very high position in government.
These numbskulls can spend all the time they want attempting to turn that soldier into their little fantasy but make no mistake, she didn't get up to that rank and position by being 'nervous' or messing about with silly boys. That simpleton making an attempt at degrading her with: 'she should be a stripper or work in McDonald's' is especially embarrassing when you imagine that he is actually saying that to someone like Oliver North or The US Attorney General, Eric Holder. Only a fool would let their hormones and emotions think for them like that imbecile has done. Would he say that about the US Attorney General? No, he would not.
And for what it's worth, when I did my jump training with Navy Seals, Rangers, Special Forces and Marines, I never got any grief from them. It was always the mediocre, insecure men who'd run their mouths. Just remember that if you hear loveism in your environment. It's not about her, it's about HIS insecurities. Always is the case with no exceptions.
Shame on all of those who are that stupid not to take her position seriously. They will when they have troops sitting on their doorstep! Very dangerous game, indeed.
Dumbasses.

I just felt like sharing this with someone.

The lonely, friend-zoned betamales of the internet strike again. The anime part is very telling. If these losers had lives and could get a date, they probably wouldn't sit around making strange, insulting animations of this woman. These guys, because they're so bitter and jaded due to never getting laid, they spend all their time in cyberspace, where they try to trivialize women in general. They respond to those who reject them, or those who are powerful and -could- reject them, by overemphasizing their appearance as either 'forgetable" or "fat/unforgetable." They try to emulate a sense of control through judgment and trivialization because they are very insecure, and feel a combination of powerless yet entitled.
Oh god I can't

I don't get it. Where's the standoffishness about this that's even remotely as hostile as the original copypasta?

Read the second one. (the post above you)

And Natalia is perfectly fine with the fan art? Glorious.
