Author Topic: EA has shut down Maxis.  (Read 5988 times)

Take back Spore.
Make it as you once saw it.

For great justice.

They aren't taking Maxis Emeryville employees and moving them around.

The employees that aren't being retained are irrelevant. Coder X is just as good as Coder Y at making The Sims, and they don't get to put their creative imaginations into the game anyway. The people who are the idea makers will be retained, and new / different artists will still follow the same art style as the previous ones. The effect noticeable in the end product will be negligible, which is why I'm saying consumers shouldn't be concerned.

step 1: band together, make maxis 2: electric boogaloo

step 2: make spore but this time make it live up to the hype

Sorry, I don't subscribe to your bullstuff attitude on society. When people are out of a job in not only an industry that I pay attention to, but one that I could see myself working in, there's a reason to get upset. If you don't care, then perhaps keep it to yourself.

Having played both Hot Pursuit 2 and Hot Pursuit 2010 I can safely say that Criterion's version was way more fun.
That is if you played with a keyboard.

Hot Pursuit 2010 by far had the worst controller sensitivity of any racing game, and it was sad that you couldn't modify it.

Why should I keep my opinion to myself when you post an entire topic to express yours? My post wasn't even about whether or not you should care; my post was expressing that the specific studio was being shut down not the game company as literally everyone in the thread seemed to think. You told me that I was directly wrong when I wasn't and then decided to attack my corollary side statement instead of continuing to express how I was wrong. That's called a red herring.

> Buys Maxis
> forgets up Maxis' game
> Shuts down Maxis

comparable to:

> Buys sandwich
> stuffs on sandwich
> Throws away sandwich

more like buying a sandwich and switching the contents of it

I don't know why you guys are all upset. EA has been shutting companies like westwood and pandemic down thinking "yeah whatever", then its like they touch the one company you like and everyone goes ape stuff. I have feeling most of will forget in a month and reinstall origin and start buying from them again.

Damn you're gonna be super upset when you realize how expendable you are.

That could be said for any job.

forget you ea
2nd worst company alongside comcast
bioware is next
They're the Disney of games, they USED to be good at stuff, original, and knew what they were doing, and now all they do is buy other companies and make sequels and remakes

That could be said for any job.
I like how you just accepted that you're super expendable and have no value. I added the no value part <3
