Razer Tiamat 7.1 Subwoofer Problems?

I recently bought a Razer Tiamat 7.1 and I've been having problems with the subwoofer. When I'm in the audio control panel (Realtek HD Audio Manager) and I test the subwoofer, it seems fine, but when I play music or listen to a 7.1 surround sound test, there is no bass and sometimes in the surround sound test there is no sound at all when the bass is supposed to play. This problem persists with razer virtual surround on OR off, so I think it's not that. What am I doing wrong?

try swapping the center and sub output
that's what i do on my 5.1
but i also use a sub connected to a soundbar
