basically post nostalgia in this thread

When I was a kid, I got NFS Underground 2. Well, it wasn't mine, it was my brothers, but he let me play the game on his xbox. I never really understood how to play it, but the thing I loved the most was the customization for the cars. It's a shame NFS doesn't make games like this anymore.

I identify as a reverse-nostalgic, as I'm nostalgic for things that exist twenty years into the future

>you're in your stuffty wooden cabin
>it is raining outside
>the sound of rain hitting the roof deafens you
>your wolf is next to you, shaking the rain off itself
>peaceful, piano, ambient music playing
>you go deep into a cave and die
>you spend ages trying to find your death point in this complex underground system
>you never find your death point, you spend an hour crying
>yfw you can never experience minecraft like you used to

>you step out of the cave, the light of the world blinds you
>dragon flies overhead, ralof says something or other
>"my sister lives in riverwood, she'll help us"
>"it is best if we split up, good luck, i couldn't have made it without you"
>don't know how to open the map, don't know what direction riverwood is in
>realize the size of the world, i can go anywhere
>discover embershard mine
>ostuff, bandit at the door
>run away
>continue wondering around, fighting wolves
>peaceful ambient music playing
>takes two hours before you even find riverwood
>yfw you can never experience skyrim like you used to

most of the nostalgia i feel that is gaming related, is centered around stuff released in like the past couple of years.

Minecraft and skyrim nostalgia? Both of those things came out a few years ago...

walking across the frozen tundra in skyrim as a level 4 khajit, when everything could kill me, i knew nothing, and nothing was easy - i will cherish those memories forever. that stuff was a gaming experience

and same goes for the blockland slopes. i love shaders and i'm not too torn up we don't have maps, but sometimes i do miss skiing down those slopes, man.

although I guess that one's for things that make others+you feel nostalgic while this one is just you

I remember one Christmas right after I got into Lego City stuff. I got the hospital and the passenger plane. I remember taking the passenger plane box into the spare gigantic side room. It was cold out and my dad and his friend were working in the garage. I just sat down on the floor putting together the plane listening to my dad and his friend laugh and use tools.
