As far as I can tell there's only been one of these so far and it tanked, so I'm rebooting the idea.

Writing Megathread!

Hey! Do you like to write? Do you write short stories and want positive constructive feedbacktotal destruction of your ego?

Then this is the thread for you!

I was tempted to make this thread for two reasons: one, Hodot and I were talking about writing and stuff and it inspired me to make the following site:

Which is just a collection of my creative writings as of the last year or two. These are the stories I've actually taken the time to write down (considering I'm constantly thinking of new story ideas) though none of them are finished completely. The longest story is as of now 21,524 words long and three chapters.

Basically, I've only shown a handful of people these writings, but I figured I might as well let you all see them, because you're all harsh, inconsiderate starfishs with your opinions, and sometimes those are the best opinions to hear when you want to better something creatively.

Secondly I made this topic because I figured, why only let me get to show off my writings? Why not let everyone post stuff and we can all talk about it together. Considering I'm currently studying the art as a career (if you actually remember the times I've talked about my schooling, yes, I really have changed majors this many times), maybe I can even give you a more concise critique of your story than if you asked, say, your mom or your middle school English teacher.

So, yeah, go ahead and write stuff or just trash on my writings, either way, I declare this thread open.

How to share your writings with us

If your writing is too long to just post here on the forums, you can use a site like pastebin or piratepad, or you can share your stories directly from Google Docs (which I think it the best method because it has its own built in spell checker and other word processor tools), so that any edits to your stories can be done in real time!

If you're going to use Google Docs and have never known about the publishing feature, this is a quick step by step guide.

First, locate the top bar of your document.



Then, bring down file:



Go to File > Publish to Web





This will generate a link for you that will stay constantly up to date on all the edits you make, simply copy it and post it here.
