Author Topic: Only one mic device working?  (Read 466 times)

Before, I used to plug in my mic into the back mic jack, and my snes to the front. They both came up as seperate devices and everything worked.
Now, I got a new motherboard, and now if I try that, they go to the same device.

There's two pink mic slots, on the rear and front. For some reason, it's only using the front panel. I think if I restart, both the rear and front pink mic slots will connect to 'Microphone'.
You may be thinking, 'What's wrong? can't you plug one into the blue or black jack?' When I try, The 'Microphone' becomes 'Currently unavaliable' and the new plugged in one works, but then doesn't actually output any sound. Note that I have to restart every time I plug something in a new jack.
It seems this new motherboard only supports one device at a time? I need to use two seperate ones so I can make the SNES quiet, with my mic normal. I can't do this now since both the front and rear pink slots go to the same device.

i feel like i've had this problem before as well

i don't think i ever actually figured out what was wrong. i think i just restarted and it was temporarily fixed.

did you uninstall your old audio drivers?

did you uninstall your old audio drivers?
yes, I had to remove the old ones because they were broken when I changed

bumple
EDIT: now I can't listen to my own mic using windows

EDIT2: Turns out even though "Microphone" tells that it's connected to front and back ports of computer (not shown in OP pic) it only has sound coming out of the front one.
