SURRENDER NOW, NIPPON

OR WE'LL DROP ANOTHER

Japan: Commits war crimes like the death march, comfort women, rape of nanking, invades Manchuria and Dutch territories, had camps for experimenting on pows and prisoners, still hated by most of Asia to this day. negatives overlooked

USA: Liberates a bunch of islands and countries like the Philipines, helped armed resistance groups fighting japan, helped Australia and New Zealand fight japan, drops a few nukes, fire bombs, and bombs of various types on Japanese mainland. Gets called evil war criminal by stupid people.

nagasaki status: nuked

New Zealand

New Zealand was never invaded/involved so much that they even attacked at all.

usa also had those concentration camps but your point still stands

idk if i would call the us a war criminal given the context and time, but anyone dropping nukes these days would probably easily get that title

Well they fought with Australia in WW2 as part of the allies and Japan was going on a massive land, plus Japan had a large enough navy that could have wrecked their economy.

Except those people weren't citizens of Japan, they were American citizens. I also happen to live a few blocks away from one of them. It was richard thing to do, but not a warcrime.
