Author Topic: Basic Building Tutorial for Newbies  (Read 8214 times)

Excellent tutorial, sir. Very helpful. I've been playing Blockland for I think almost a decade now and even I haven't mastered everything.

Are you planning to continue this series of tutorials? I'd love to see something like this for, say, event scripting, something I've never been able to wrap my head around. Things like that to help us noobs eventually be able to play Blockland like the pros.

add a paintcan section, and an extended tools section (duplicator, duplorcator, fillcan, fillprinter, destructo-gun would all be good there.)

For paintcan, this is all the information you need-
E to go right, Ctrl + E to go left, mousewheel to scroll
limit of 64 colors per colorset

Im sure you can find more details to put there, or if not, the Ctrl + E thing is something I surprise EVERYONE with. Nobody realizes you can scroll backwards with paint can lol.

Just added the paint can controls. Expect some more tools soon.

I will definitely be making a basic and probably advanced tutorial for eventing. (Within a week from now.) And an advanced building tutorial might be coming soon. But I probably won't be making a torque script tutorial, that is still beyond me.

This is a basic tutorial, I might add just duplicator/duplorcator.

what if I change all of my keybinds before knowing what any of them do

what if I change all of my keybinds before knowing what any of them do
what kind of person would do that

what if I change all of my keybinds before knowing what any of them do
Reset them?

What we really need is a full tutorial that runs ingame as a game mode with guis explaining every step, then badspot can include it with the game and add the button back on the main menu. No new player is going to find this topic on his own.

I was thinking more or less that people who see new players would give this link to them. So if you ever encountered someone needing help with basic stuff, just give them this link.

Excellent tutorial for players who just bought the game, this should be pinned!

You should mention that right clicking a brick in the brick menu = auto-equip it, if you prefer continuously hitting B over making an inventory of 10 bricks to use.

does anyone remember the help gui

Just realized that was there actually, I was aiming for a more visual tutorial though, instead of just descriptions.

Very Useful! Now remember to add Alt F4 to save builds.
