Modem-Router combos are usually total stuff from my experience, and offer some remote management for the ISP that is only useful for total dinklepoops and old people.

Requesting a regular modem instead and using your own router (preferably dual-band w/AC) would make things loads better and could even end up saving money after you pay off your initial investment of ~<$60.

Go into your router and increase the connected devices limit.

Same here. I'd rather have a modem and a router connected via ethernet instead of both in one.

now THIS is what I'd want to see

when I had time warner they gave us a modem and router combo. it had both in one machine. also phone lines
they made us pay to use wifi with it. I don't mean they made us pay to rent it, I mean we had to pay them money just to use the wifi feature of the router, in addition to paying to rent it

Comcast's wireless routers put out an "Xfinity Wireless" network, which is a wireless network that any paying comcast customer can connect to and use your internet connection. And you can't disable it.

$60 is really cheap, if you can even find anything in that range
