Author Topic: Haven't used computer in 2 months, it got slower?  (Read 4380 times)

Hey guys. So for the summer this year I was operating a ferry for transportation up in upstate NY, so I haven't used my laptop in 2 months. I shut it down, left it here at home. I come back, booted it up, and now it just feels really slow. I haven't used another computer so it's not that it's a mind thing. I genuinely think the computer is a lot slower. Does anyone know if there's a cause for this, or am I just screwed? Thanks!

someone broke into your house and replaced all the parts in your laptop with worse parts

I don't think that can actually happen
so it is probably your imagination

but I guess it could depend on what you mean by "slow"
is the software and stuff itself being slow? or do web pages take longer to load?

Maybe you've gotten faster?

I'vehad similar experiences with two computers, trust me, it's just your mind.

It theoretically could be dust buildup, but I don't think it would be a significant impact after only two months.

open pc and breathe in the dust

Software. Maybe I just remembered it being faster. A month before I left it would get slow, then after using it a while it would kink itself out. It just hasn't gotten kinked out yet I guess.

probably just dust but I wouldn't see why it could effect most of the pc
