Author Topic: old school demos/cracktros  (Read 522 times)

'demos' are old intros created by people back when crack groups were actually insanely popular. these aren't piracy since...y'know. there's no games on em' (this is mildly contradicting for demos but cracktros are...yeah.). plus they're really old. cons, or 'partys', as the demoscene term is called, are also hosted for these often at events like revision.

a couple personal favorites:
Razor1911 - Cracktro #11 - old but good DOS cracktro. this was for the game quake 2. it says 100%, not sure if that means the game was already completed. music's nice and the pencil drawing touch is neato.

MODE7 - Zelda: Four Swords Cracktro - i remember this one REALLY well back in my days as a kid when I played VBA. this was actually used on kirby's nightmare in dreamland as well. good music and a cute intro.

CYBERFORCE - Castlevania +6 Trainer - this is a REALLY good one. in case you didn't notice, the top is entirely interactive and is a working space invaders game. the music fits nicely too.

you can find more of this stuff on pouet and flashtro. give the amiga cracktro marathon a look as well! it's a nice long series of old amiga cracktros.

edit: i'm not encouraging piracy btw. i'm only in it for these nice intros. go watch em' on youtube or something.

I don't get it. So it's just... video game introductory cutscenes? That's it?

not exactly. it's not for the videogames themselves, it's what shows before you start the actual game
