>The emperor of Japan closes all of its borders to outsiders for 300 years
not really, trade with china, korea, etc. was still common during sakoku
>In the 1850s America comes in and forgets everyone up, humiliating the people of Japan.
all the united states did was send gunboats into tokyo harbor and threaten war if japan didn't make an exception in sakoku for the baroness of the west--and of course japan relented. we didn't forget anyone up or humiliate anything. all we did was ship guns in and catalyze the fall of the samurai, thus ushering meiji and his restoration
>Invade Pear Harbor (Hey lets poke the lion with a stick and see what happens)
bombing != invading
>Japan keeps fighting for some loving reason
unrestrained nationalism, basic tenets of fascist totalitarianism, political religion, history of self sacrifice and honor, etc...
>America and Japan are friends now (I think)
>Japan is now one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world.
