No I've seen people ask Badspot for their key on the forum account, and they got a respond for their key.

because the forum software doesn't store the key. I obviously can't know for certain, but it probably just validates the key with the master server, which returns the matching ID to the forum software if the key is valid. storing the actual key on the forum software would be a big security risk with little benefits

of course but it wouldn't hurt for badspot to reply to pms asking for their key.
