Being a loving dumbass

iirc Kalphite got the ability to lock taken away

more specifically, he had the ability to lock drama topics taken away from everyone because he made so many of them and locked so many of them, and collectively the forums was kinda being dumb about it too, so we lost it. do remember kalphiter being the catalyst in it all though.
Not only that, but he lost us the ability to edit drama posts.
He had a habit of editing his posts in order to hide what he said or make people who responded to him look stupid.
Plus the locking of topics when they weren't going his way.

Well why doesn't Badspot bring them back since Kalphiter is gone.

what most ppl don't realize

is that most of us had the ability to view the failbin
and a secret board

but that ability was taken away from us......most of us.......

Well why doesn't Badspot bring them back since Kalphiter is gone.

Because in principle it is a bad idea. Just because Kalphiter was the first to abuse it doesn't mean he'll be the last.

Plus, Drama is inherently a place that people are going to say things and want to retract their comments.

Well why doesn't Badspot bring them back since Kalphiter is gone.
Because there's no harm in the ability to lock/edit in Drama being gone.
The change was made in response to Kalphiter doing it excessively, but he was not the first to do it. And if the ability returned he wouldn't be the last.

While not always effective the limits should make people think long and hard before posting there, as you can't take back what you say.
Obviously not everyone does, and it's not uncommon that people don't know. This could be mitigated with a sticky reminding people of Rule 6 (Think before you post) and pointing out that you can't edit in drama.
