i mean if you come back and think about it in today's perspective, pokemon red was a bad, glitchy game.

imo you can start with any game but try to avoid gen 1. it had so many problems that people seem to accept for no other reason than nostalgia. i think someone on tumblr made a giant list of those problems once

in all honestly, get omega ruby or alpha sapphire. you can acquire all the pokemon up to gen 6, which is completely awesome.
