I narrowed down the poll to the 3 most popular options (I took out "None," since most people wanted at least some RP). Vote for the finalist now! I chose 1895 as the final date for Oncoming Storm as a compromise between 2 votes for 1871 and 3 votes for 1907; it's located near the weighted average (1892) and should give time for deviation but not so long as to delay a World War. It's also located on the beginning of the Cuban War of Independence, which the US historically involved themselves in to cause the Spanish-American War.
I would also like to know how hard/soft you all want this RP to be. I know most don't appreciate micromanaging techs and production very much, but given that this is a buildup to the Great War, war will serve quite a big part so production and war needs to be fair. Should I lay out policies/ideologies myself or leave it to soft RPing? What about technologies and research, or economy and production? Please let me know!
