Author Topic: Can we talk about how terrible EA and Origin is  (Read 1270 times)

I've had this issue with Battle.net and Steam and they all helped me out with scratched off codes
How the forget...

In 21 years, I have NEVER scratched a gift card so hard that the letters are removed. You need to seriously calm down or something when you scratch these codes off, mate.

I study printing pres stuff and I honestly doubt they will come off unless:
The scratchable foil thing is very low quality, thin printed or bad printed
The ink hasnt dried yet for some reason
You apply too much pressure.

And it's probably to last one because bad prints usually get thrown away and the ink is probably dried using heat or UV light wich let's them dry almost instantly (implying the card are plastic)

These cards are usually made in another company, try contacting them

I scratch off all cards the same way, with a coin. That usually never removes any ink from the card. Even if it did, like I said, Steam and Blizzard could tell me my codes.
I need Origin in order to play Battlefield and Dead Space 3

EA can die for the mess they call NBA Live

everyone shuup I love Ea for giving me the sims 2 ultimate collection for free :)

Origin is what I use to play Battlefield. I've had a few problems on it but it's not extremely bad. At least it's better then U-PLAY.

Why would you buy a card in the first place anyway? It's cheaper and easier to add the money directly to the account.

I literally hate origin so so so much I hate it every time I try and open it it's such a big goddamn ordeal half the time it doesn't work most of the time it tells me my password is wrong at least 50 times before I can log in and it's just the worst I was just bitching about it like three days ago

because I am not an adult with a credit/debit card

talk to an adult with a credit/debit card

I'm not sure it's really fair to blame origin for the fact that you type your password wrong

I boycott any company that tries to make me download their own DRM Store program. I'm not getting uPlay. I'm not getting Origin. I'm not getting Battle.net. I hope I won't have to avoid TES 6 over Bethesda.net because I'm not sure if I could do that. It's one thing to be like Blizzard and only launch Overwatch through Battle.net, but to be like Ubisoft and launch uPlay through Steam and then launch your game through uPlay, it's just ridiculous.

I found a pretty awesome Email in my inbox, from a few years ago. It's like the opposite of EA.

Dear Stardock customer,

My name is Brad Wardell. I'm the President & CEO of Stardock.  Two years ago, you bought a game from us called Elemental: War of Magic.  We had great hopes and ambitions for that game but, in the end, it just wasn't a very good game.

Elemental was an expensive game. You probably paid $50 or more for it. And you trusted us to deliver to you a good game. $50 is a lot of money and companies have a moral obligation to deliver what they say they're going to deliver and frankly, Stardock failed to deliver the game we said we were going to deliver.

While we did update Elemental: War of Magic (you can still download v1.4). Its design just wasn't adequate to make it into the kind of game it should be. So we decided to start over. From scratch. We made a new game called Fallen Enchantress.

So even though it's been two years, we haven't forgotten about you.  This week, we released Fallen Enchantress. It is a vastly better game and, we believe, lives up to the expectations set for the original Elemental.  This game is yours. Free. It's already been added to your account.

You can download and play it by going to -snip-

We hope you enjoy Fallen Enchantress.  Please feel free to visit the Elemental forum at www.elementalgame.com if you wish to talk to me and the rest of the team. We're there and very interested in your feedback.

Thank you for being our customers and your patience.

Sincerely,

Brad Wardell
President & CEO

This was really awesome. Basically the original game was supposed to be a fantasy-based strategy game a bit like Civ 5 set in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world but it ended up being so unbalanced and buggy you could hardly play it. So giving out the (actually good) sequel for free was a great move. I'm probably gonna keep buying from them for this reason.

The only reason I have EA access is for the EA sports games and Battlefield basically, other wise it's trash
