taking bets as to how long it will take before nk internally collaspes and outside countries have to step in to fix the situation

I doubt it will be a case of countries stepping in to help/install a new democratic government, as in Iraq/Afghanistan.
Instead it will be an annexation of NK.
SK/USA will sweep in from the south to annex territory under South Korea.
China will come from the west and claim land for themselves.
And Russia may or may not attempt the same from the north.
If the NK government collapses there will be no more North Korea.
It will mostly just be (reunified) Korea and China.
