Author Topic: Blockland: Problems I am having with the Mac version  (Read 1701 times)

Allow incoming connections:
Everytime I host a server, it seems to load up this pop up. I always say allow, but this keeps popping up and up and UP!
I'm sick of it. How do I get rid of this?

Achievements not working:
I try to get the SpeedierKart achievement by touching the brick and it doesn't show up saying "Achievement Unlocked"
Same with the High Score achievement.

UPDATE: I checked my Firewall settings and it says it "allows incoming connections" even though it keeps popping up? Is it because Steam seems to open a new version of Blockland that this thing pops up?

Install Wine and use the windows version of Blockland. Most, if not all of your problems will be resolved by this.

Honestly, Wine is just using Windows XP. I seriously don't want to go through that process of running it on a virtual machine.

The mac port has several issues. Running the windows version in wine is the best way to go.

Oh? It does?
huh. Well I have to deal with that, won't I?

Wine is a "emulator", basically providing instruction-translation services (or whatever) to the program that's running. It, in a sense, provides most reverse engineered library's for windows. It isn't hard at all to get it setup though.

Is no one going to point at the application name in the photo?

the avatar is mysterious in its ways, we must work around it

I said
WILL I HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT?

A solution has already been presented to you. If you refuse to use the solution, then yes, you will have to deal with it.

I said
WILL I HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT?
you actually said that you will deal with it
Well I have to deal with that, won't I?
in the future, if you want a response, you may want to phrase your questions as questions, instead of as rhetorical statements

and yeah, the mac version has issues, if you don't want to use a windows version, then  yes, you will being use the version with issues

UPDATE: So now, i'm getting the Squite Error, which I don't know what add-ons are causing this, but it comes up when I try to host a server and somebody joins, or i'm playing a server and I suddenly crash. It seems to spam this whenever:
Quote
ResManager::openFileForWrite - failed to create path for "config/client/config.cs"
Unable to open file 'config/client/config.cs' for writing.

Can somebody explain to me what's causing this?

JUST USE THE WINDOWS VERSION, IT WORKS BETTER.

Also do an antivirus scan. That avatar thing looks shady.

OKAY!
I'm using Wine to run Steam. How do I run the Blockland app on this version.
