Author Topic: Windows 10 Anniversary update borks dual-boot partitions  (Read 1308 times)

windows 10 pro users should always have defer upgrades enabled.

stuff like this is the reason why.

also it could be that it was trying to erase the recovery partition since windows 10 replaces the feature.

bump

oh well i guess...?

why do you say it like that??
do you not care potential personal data is possibly being lost from this?

that's a pretty insane bug. has microsoft said anything about it yet? edit: the link vaguely answers my question

oh so it was the update that was doing it...

yeah my mac partition just kinda vanished and i couldn't mount it again (i have the bootcamp drivers)

that's it
windows 10 sucks
do not give a stuff what anyone says
A significant bug in the installer for an update is enough for you to say that the rest of the entire Operating System is stuff?

These Windows 10 threads have been fantastic to help me pick out which users belong most on my "Shouldn't Breed; Contagious Stupidity" list. You've made the top. Congratulations.

The Anniversary Update itself is fantastic and I'm loving loving all the features. I too had some frustrations with the installation process, and while it sucks that people are losing personal data, this doesn't reflect at all on the actual OS. I'm reminded of the Myth II installer bug, where uninstalling Myth II could potentially wipe your entire OS due to an oversight, yet the game itself was just fine and enjoyed by many.

Don't make such stupid blanket statements in future.

i think you're being just a wee bit too harsh on the ignorant laddie there Mcjob.
