Basically, Paul Feig, the director of the box office bomb Ghostbusters (2016), said to Huffington Post that although he considered making a reboot of Back to the Future, now he's sure he won't be rebooting another classic series of films and will stick to original creations like Bridesmaids.

This could be for any number of reasons. Even though he said that it was only "exciting" to do a Ghostbusters reboot, the decision could also be attributed to the movie barely making back its production costs and overall being heavily criticized by a good portion of the population (for non-loveist reasons).

To sum up, you will not be seeing any more reboots from this director.

Hey, he's made good stuff (Freaks and Geeks, Spy, some episodes of The Office)

He was just a terrible fit for ghostbusters.

nah. ghostbusters wasn't very good (not nearly as bad as people say lol) but paul has directed some good stuff. he did spy (which was shockingly good, like, i'd just give it a 7.5 from memory but i expected like a 2) and also some really good episodes of The Office. i think he deliberately tried to dumb it down for GB

He didn't dumb it down, he's just not cut out for these big tentpole films. He's had really good success with a show like The Office which relies a lot on improv. But that doesn't work when you have a big movie with lots of special effects that the actors have to interact with. When he takes four actresses, puts them in front of a green screen and tells them to riff, he's not really creating a big-budget blockbuster, just an extended SNL skit.
