tbh I don't really know why torin was banned for flaming. In that category, this seems pretty tame, as opposed to some of the other ones.
It's whether or not the point of the post is to insult someone. If you are deflating their argument and tell them to stfu you're good, but if you just say "stfu" you're flaming.

"heh look at this opportunity that this user is getting banned, its so hilarious!"
PSTD?

yo he loving literally one-upped the orlando shooter lmfao

Flaming constitutes a direct attack.  Like if my entire post was LITERALLY "You are a piece of loving stuff and you need to die in a hole", then it is flaming, since the entire post was an attack.

However, if my post divulges into explaining WHY someone is a piece of loving stuff, then it is not flaming by the Forum Rules' definition.  I have gone off on people in very aggressive manners on this Forum (I will admit that I shouldn't have), and have never been banned for this reason.

So either Torin was trying to get banned or he as an idiot who didn't know the rules.

Back on subject, this is really a shame to hear.  When you give people no way out, they get desperate to achieve something through radical means.  Erdogan could have gotten away with what he had two years ago, but instead clamped down even further on civil and political rights.
