An attempt to poke fun at the double standard: If a christian does something violent, they're a crazy individual, while if a muslim does something violent, their religion is to blame.
I definitely failed at that, however.
Only semi-related, but googling "is christianity a religion of peace" has this "masterpiece" as a first result:

"The true spirit of Christianity is that of war, war against the world, war against the flesh, war against evil and the guiles of Satan"
I couldn't agree more, but out of context this clearly sounds morally wrong, as it appears it does to you. There are four "voices" that speak to us: the flesh, the world, satan(evil), and God-- the whole article ultimately points towards "evil" being what Christians are mainly at war against, but without a true definition of what is "evil" to Christians, things could definitely be misinterpreted. Regarding Christian violence against other humans: someone is "evil" if they align themselves with the enemy, satan, and do his work on earth for him. It more or less requires a conscious decision to form a covenant with satan. That said, sinners, non-believers, etc. are not "evil" to Christians. Actual physical war that may in rare cases warrant the killing of other humans ends with the fight against evil. Although if you want more information on how a Christian may fight against the flesh and the world,
this article explains in pretty good detail
