Author Topic: PSA: Is the default SMF search tool not working for you? Use this method!  (Read 325 times)

I've had some issues with this forum's default search feature in that sometimes I can't find the thread that I'm looking for. However, I've been using this method when this kind of issue occurred, and I think it can help out a few people:
It's really simple. Go on google and type "site:forum.blockland.us" (without quotes) and then what you are trying to search and you should be able to actually find that thread that you had a hard time finding with the default search. I know you could simply google "blockland" and then some other thing, but using the site: feature works more nicely.
Anyway, as I said above, just wanted to share this in case other people had similar issues with the search. Thanks for reading.

Or you know, you could type quotes in for specific things or minuses to exclude anything in the regular SMF search...

doesn't fix the fact that it'll only give you one result per thread :)

okay this happened to me the other day and hear me out because this is straight up weird

I was searching up 'emitters' in the search. thats it. when i got my result. nothing was highlighted to show the keyword events. the word events didnt even come up at all. it was just a bunch of random topics

i did notice something really weird though. the same word, a different word, kept showing up in the results. it wasn't highlighted either though.

the word was research. i searched 'emitters' and my results were several topics/posts with the keyword 'research' in them. you can't explain that.

im wondering how the hell that even happened
