Author Topic: iOS 10 is awful  (Read 3370 times)

I have a theory that Apple intentionally makes the new iOS updates slow on older phones or devices to force people to buy new ones. I know this because I owned an iPhone 5c at one point while my friend owned an iPhone 5. We both had the newest iOS at the time and yet my phone ran fine while his slowed to a crawl after the update. Both phones had the EXACT SAME hardware (just check the specs for the 5 and 5c), the only difference is that since mine was a 5c, it was technically a year newer.

ios 10 killed my battery

I really like iOS 10, definitely my favorite version since 6.1.6. Runs like a dream on my iPhone 7, ran almost identically on the 6S+ I sent back to upgrade. Looking into maybe saving up for a ZTE Axon 7 or something so I can switch back and forth between Android and iOS.

If you bothered to check your settings you would notice you can still use the slide lockscreen. Is that your only complaint?

Hes talking about the button on the phone not the screen lol

No stuff. So was I.

why do you guys even bring up that planned obsolescence BS?
I mean it's already pretty known across any device, in order to push customer to buy again.
just taking google as comparison:
iPhone 5 dating from september 2012 still supports iOS 10 released in september 2016
but google's Nexus 4 dating from october 2012, doesn't support any more update since october 2015

Because they like looking for more reasons to bitch about Apple. Don't use a 5 year old piece of junk and you won't even have to worry about your phone getting slowed down.

I haven't updated, never will if I can help it.

I always say this about my iPad but eventually give in because they slow your stuff down if you don't update it.

I'm not saying this is the only solution, but consider moving to android at some point. Android phones are considerably cheaper, have the same apps (if not more, but this argument really shouldn't be applicable anymore), the OS/Kernel on each one can be changed for one you prefer (will void warranty unfortunately, but if you aren't stupid this shouldn't be a problem), they usually also have a bunch more widgets and you also don't have to worry about proprietary bullstuff. Plus we use a normal micro usb like most normal people do.

Yes but I'm talking about the phone slowing to a crawl within a year because of an update. Not 4 years
