now paste that line to every katrina victim please. it applies to anyone really.
how stupid do you have to be to even suggest this? the majority of katrina casualties were in orleans, which was supposed to have a flood levee built out of adamantium. nobody knew it would fail and stuff would flood overnight. they also didn't have evac regulations back then. people assumed that it would be a bit of rain and wind but not a flood.

its not as easy as "just leave the area" since a) the hurricane affects miles after miles of property, and b) these people would have no place to live and would essentially be homeless and without food or water if they left their homes. within 3 weeks they would all be dead or dying

I live on the east coast.

Just finished boarding up 8 windows. Brand new generator in our garage with 15 gallons of gasoline to power the fridge and freezer.
128 water bottles. 6 gallon jugs of water. Oil lanterns and candle for light. Battery packs charged to keep my phone powered.
Lots of canned foods and boxed snacks.

I've been through Ivan, Charlie and Katrina before. I have no problem taking on Matthew and his double d.

Yeah, my family just finished boarding up a bunch of windows, and we got a gas cooker + propane, so we're set for the 1 or 2 days this is gonna last.
