Author Topic: Rate this PC build please  (Read 852 times)

Hey nerds, I'm looking to build my own PC. I have an actual reason to get one now that I have a lot of my bills taken care of.

I'm looking to edit video on this. Gaming is a high priority as well.

I'm aware it doesn't have an OS on the list, my friend has a copy of windows 7 or 10 he's going to give me.

I'm just looking for feedback on if I should change parts & if so, why. It can get more expensive but I'd like to stay around the $1k-$1.2k range. Thanks!

I used to have the 960 on this list but it's the same exact price of the 970, so why would I not go for the 970?

Instead of the 970 go for the 1060, I promise you'll love it. Cheaper and better performance
Also you should get another ram stick

or just get a 1070

Yeah, if you wanna spend $400 on the 970 then just go with the 1070
Idk if I'd go with Gigabyte tho

don't get the 970, it's a complete waste of money right now. get the 1060 as said before

get the i5 6600k. also get 16gb of RAM since that's only like 60 dollars (and you're paying $43 for the slowest DDR4 stick).

that PSU is extremely expensive for what it does. mine is 550W 80+ bronze and i got it for 54 bucks so...

i would recommend using the extra money from the GPU to splurge for a better monitor with better colors, 1ms lag and 144hz.

also you need a CPU cooler because the stock ones suck dog richard

Gigabyte is fantastic, I have a Gigabyte GTX 770
Still does the job even up until this very day.

i've heard gigabyte's customer service was complete dog stuff. i sent a ticket once and never got anything back, but there wasn't really a problem though.

It scored the lowest benchmark with every other 1060 on the market. I'm just assuming the 1070 would tell a similar story

kevin your list looks the most attractive to me so far, not to mention all the reasoning behind switching things around.
