Author Topic: recycling center haul  (Read 929 times)

so i work for a city near me (state benefits and good pay hooray) and i work on a trash truck. It's not that bad, only work about half the time im paid for daily. the other half i am at a recycling center, and they recycle computer stuff there. It's crazy what people throw away, found a $400 GPU, some kind of nvidia card, assloads of processors (im collecting them cause i hear you can get gold off them, not sure how true that is tho) anyways, i can have whatever i want from there. Got a set of brand new tires for my malibu through this lol

this processor caught my eye cause it was in a gaming rig. Any of you guys know if its any good? i never had a lot of money so i didnt mess with intel mostly AMD. i have no idea

ignore my forgeted thumbnail i bite my nails

also that's pretty cool, use it

well I don't have a LGA 1155 motherboard. I guess I could take the one I took it off of but I would rather buy one tbh. I still dont know if its any good for gaming tho. hoping someone here knows their stuff about this stuff lol

i think this is the processor you have
i googled it and people said it should only be used for "heavy load" or servers or something

heavy load servers? better call pacnet and hammereditor

so it would not be good for gaming?

at the oldest e3-1230 its 4 cores 8 threads with support up to 1600 MHz ram (32gb)
and it's a psuedo-server processor so it /could/ be good, it seems to be around from the sandy bridge era which brought the legendary 2600k so it's probably as good as a fx-8350 or around that
good for the price of free though

who knows if it works though since you found it in the garbage

this tho

the $400 gpu i found did so worth a shot lmao

that's good to hear because the fx-8350 is twice as good as anything i think i have lol

I'd love to hear about all the hardware you picked up in details with pics and stuff.
