How the forget even do i do this?

I tried isolating y like this and the answer is wrong

maxwell would know
if only he was here

ax + by = c         - the equation
by = c - ax          - get by isolated by subtracting ax from both sides
y = c/b - (a/b)x   - divide by b on both sides and get the answer

i think that's how it works

Ax + By = C
Ax + By - C = 0
Ax - C = -By
(C/B) - (Ax/B) = y

Re-written to be in the form your teacher probably wants:

y = -(A/B)x + (C/B)

also it shouldn't matter if its -(Ax/B) or -(A/B)x because doing it either way gets the same answer

im a loving idiot, A would become -a since i changed the side... thanks guys

welp forget me, this program is broken
