For 4 years things will not get better, no matter who gets elected. Then hopefully we'll have better candidates and things will slowly get better. Believe it or not, statistically we live in the safest, most well informed version of a global society that has ever existed. The reason things seem so much stufftier than it "was before" is a combination of young naivety and lack of extensive access to information that the internet brought to the world.
