Author Topic: Nvidia 1070 60 FPS issues?  (Read 1481 times)

Right so I have an Nvidia 1070 and I thought it would be able to tackle FPS issues against shaders in vanilla Blockland. Apparently not since I struggle to get 60 FPS with max shaders on medium/large maps. Players like Hound has a 970 and Mr. Unicode with a 960 and claims to get steady over 60 FPS on the server I was with him regardless of where he stood. Maybe it's setting or something.  Now keep in mind this same card can run DOOM and Battlefront on Ultra with a steady 60 fps.

Specs:
i7-3770 (Non-K, 3.4 gHz)
Zotac Nvidia 1070 (8 gb vram)
16 gb DDR3 RAM
Windows 10

What's your resolution? What resolution are they playing at? Do they even have shadows on?

Normally I play on 1154 x 864 windowed. Hound played windowed but I did not know his resolution, he told me he was playing at Max Shaders. I don't know about Unicode but he at least confirmed he had max shaders as well.

Well that's weird.
One thing I can think of is make sure this box is not checked:

What server were you playing on, if it's a public one?

Planr was hosting a WIP Space TDM. I'll look into your suggestion when I get out of work later today, thanks.

Could also swap between Reduce Render Latency methods.

Have you checked your nvidia control panel to see if any of the power saving features are enabled?

Have you tried setting your power plan in Windows control panel>power options to high performance?
A long-shot but have you made sure your monitor is plugged in to the video port on your graphics card and not the one of the motherboard?

That did it, thanks!
