i understand the reasoning of it's closure-- not a lot of children still play computer games, they're on tablets and phones now.

i believe there was already a port of club penguin on mobile before club penguin island came along. why didn't they just keep the original app? why did the make an entire new game?

this is exactly what I was thinking. if they wanted more players and more money, just improve the app or add something new to the game

I guess they decided just having mobile servers would have a higher profit margin? I really doubt the majority of the old players are going to start CPI and play it regularly, though.
