So i've been wondering this question for a while.
Most movies say that they're reanimated by a fungus or virus, in which case they were dead. But they have perfectly warm pumping blood that goes into their head, chest, and arms and even flows out sometimes onto their clothes.

But this says it's a reanimated corpse.

This also says it

zombies arent real dummy

It depends on what you're watching/reading/playing.
In some cases, they are reanimated through fungus or another living being, so they are dead. Other times, it's things like a disease, in which case they are alive.

Biological dead things don't have motor functions

headcrabs are alive and the controlled bodies are dead, so
i guess you could say they're HALF-LIFE

If its a zombie virus, then they're alive. If its magic, then they're undead

it went past dead and came out the other side

headcrabs are alive and the controlled bodies are dead, so
i guess you could say they're HALF-LIFE

The controlled bodies are not dead, the screams you hear are actually the hosts that the headcrab is trying to muffle out.
