FORUM ISSUE: Avatar upload system is ornery

Is it just me, or is the upload system for profile pictures completely bipolar? Sometimes I can upload a several hundred KB gif well beyond 75x75, and it will gladly compress the damned thing for me.

Now it's telling me that my tiny PNG barely under a dozen KB - and resized to UNDER the proper dimensions, mind you - is too big. Does it have something against PNG filetypes? Does it take days off? I'm honestly at a loss here.

It's not about the file size, you have to remove all metadata because SMF is stupid.
