Author Topic: iphone can't text, call, or use data (blf tech hotline pls help)  (Read 679 times)

got this 5s yesterday in the mail and it should work with tmobile because it's factory unlocked gsm. the top left corner says t-mobile and dynamically changes from 4g, e, lte, etc. however, i can't text, call or use data. can only browse the web when on wifi and text. speaking of texing, imessage will only send messages to ios for some reason. sms (green bar) says it was sent, but not getting replies from people.

what i've checked so far

1. if it's jailbroken or not (it's not)
2. if the imei is blocked (it's not)
3. if the sim was activated (it is)

anyone know what's up or had this happen before?

I don't know, but what I do know is that the "Your first mistake was getting an Iphone" posts are coming.

then why post

try calling customer support for tmobile or try to contact whoever you bought the phone from, or alternatively, buy an android based phone instead and pawn the iphone off.

epic post friend, but those are dismissive and will get people banned.

i called customer support and they gave me a bullstuff answer that it was jailbroken and therefore won't work on the network (which is false btw)

and no i won't buy an android again. the ui of ios is very fluid and appealing to me.

i never understood this arguement because ios and android's default ui are almost identical besides android in some cases having on-screen buttons depending on what phone you have (or if you have it toggled on in the event your physical button breaks) and having slightly different default icons. whatever I'm not here to sell you android, did you contact whoever you bought the iphone from about it or did you get it from tmobile as well?

bought it from a reputable certified refurbished dealer on amazon. gonna get a hold of tmobile first before i contact the dealer.
