rogue one was actually my favorite in the series so far i think. it was so nice not to have a movie about laser swords and politics. the force-religion stuff was kinda weird but it seems like they're going somewhere with it in the canon so it's fine. it was a star wars movie that was about non-magic characters in a star wars universe, and it was incredibly compelling as a result.
