like the UN and NATO and all the military and diplomatic alliances that previously existed just go up in smoke if a secret German superstate didn't continue being a thing
these countries can't run themselves!!11!1!!!!1!1!!!! Germany has everything under control
I don't think you realize that as much influence Germany can project, it cannot run everything on its own. France is a major player that is keeping the EU held together. Germany would be faced with either having to dissolve the EU, eject peripheral states that serve as welfare drains such as Spain and Greece, or face a financial crCIA within a decade.
The thing is, Germans are already upset about their taxes going to other countries with decreasing accountability. France, likewise, has similar problems with their earnings being essentially drained, but public opinion in France is at a splintering point. Should France, the 2
nd largest economy in the EU, not counting Britain, leave the EU, that monetary burden would fall to Germans, and Germans would not want to play a game of "Self-Inflicted Treaty of Versailles."
And while NATO and the UN have nothing to do with this scenario in specific, the actions within the EU will indirectly effect UN & NATO policy.
