what does that even mean in the title other than "port forwarding" and "UPnP"

Advertisement Period is how often the router will broadcast UPnP information, apparently default is 30 minutes but it can go from 1 minute to 1 day (144. Shorter durations will ensure that control points have current device status, but this can create additional network traffic. Longer durations may compromise the freshness of the device status but can significantly reduce network traffic. (

This seems to be relevant because from what the description says it'll broadcast for that time and then give up (?) - I am not completely sure but you can mess around with it and see if anything changes
